Nonesi  Development & Legal Advice Office
Non profit Status /Registered NPO   /041 -730 NPO.

Nonesi came into life as because of scarcity of legal assistance services for the benefit of poor communities of Ezibeleni (Queenstown). This issue proved our democratic aim for social transformation (that is centralised to political & socio-economic emancipation of the poor: Predominantly and Previously Disadvantaged Black Communities) futile.

As a large number of people seem to be hard-done by the judicial system simple because they do not afford legal service costs, community members of Ezibeleni initiated this organisation. Hence initially it was established as merely a legal advice office for community of Ezibeleni by some members of community, who were by majority unemployed youth and women with exceptional capacity and relevant skills.

Due to growth of the organisation, geographical spreading demand for its services and further realisation of communal disparities, the organisation broadened its scope to cover issues of Human Rights, Health, Social Development, Community Facilitation, Democracy Education and LED Facilitation.

It was named Nonesi in April 2003, a prominent Royal Queen of Abathembu – area where Ezibeleni, Greater Queenstown, Lukhanji Local Municipality and Chris Hani District Municipality is located.

It is currently operational in the entire Chris Hani District and to a greater extent facilitating its community development services to other parts of the country like Umgungundlovu in KwaZulu-Natal and Kimberly in Northern Cape
